The 3rd annual Lemon Light Up will be on November 14th, 2024

For the third year in a row, The Westley Hotel is delighted and honoured to host the 3rd annual Lemon Light Up on Thursday, November 14th, 2024. The Westley Hotel is proud to partner with the Love for Lewiston Foundation for this annual event, helping to bring joyful experiences and treatment funding to those families whose loved ones are experiencing Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA).

What is Spinal Muscular Atrophy?

SMA is the number one genetic cause of infant mortality. SMA gradually weakens and atrophies the musculature in the body, posing not only a significant risk of early infant mortality but also burdening survivors with lifelong struggles in mobility and physical strength.

The Love for Lewiston Foundation exists in support of baby Lewiston, who tragically lost his battle with SMA at just 179 days old. His family, the Olstads, decided to use their grief to take action, creating the foundation and fundraising ever since to find new treatments and seek a cure for this devastating condition.

This event takes place in the ground floor lobby here at The Westley Hotel, centred around a stunning Christmas Tree that will be the highlight of the tree-lighting ceremony.

The fun-filled evening promises delicious food, great company, and a powerful cause, featuring a fabulous three-course dinner crafted by Fonda Fora alongside live music, an enlightening mobility challenge that offers a glimpse into living with SMA, a silent auction, and a raffle with fantastic prizes.

The lemon theme continues to be inspired by Love For Lewiston’s Lemonade Stand, which will be at this year’s event!
