The Ethnik Festival’s mission is “to create moments, memories and shared experiences through the lens of Afro-Canadian Artistic traditions.” They embrace diversity through forms of cultural expression, including dance, art – and it all starts off with the Calgary Food War, where 4 notable culinary artists go head-to-head, judged by an International award-winning chef.
This leading, all-encompassing celebration is held each February in honour of Black History (Excellence). Bringing together Afro-Canadian and Caribbean communities, this festival fosters diversity, inclusivity, and the sharing of vibrant cultural traditions with fellow Canadians. Their mission is to encourage leadership, while also inspiring and informing younger generations about authentic self-expression through Afro-Canadian and global art traditions. In 2024, this event will showcase creative brilliance from artists in Calgary, across Canada, and around the world, accessible to a global online audience. Additionally, festival participants have the exciting opportunity to win numerous consolation prizes through the festival quiz competition. Join them in celebrating culture, history, and creativity!
