Updated Spring 2023

Calgary is a vibrant and beautiful place to live and visit. However, as any local will tell you, we do get our fair share of blistery winter days around here. Thank goodness it is still a breeze to travel via foot around the downtown core without having to brave the outdoor elements when the thermometer drops into those negative temperatures.

Calgary’s Plus 15 system is an ingenious solution for pedestrians in the city’s downtown core who don’t want to pull on six layers of outerwear just to grab lunch or stretch their legs during the coldest weeks of winter.

Developed in the late 1960’s, the Plus 15 is an elevated, closed network of bridges that connects many of downtown’s office buildings. These bridges got their name from the fact that they are each suspended 15 feet above street level, so you get a nice birds-eye view of the street life below.

Today, the Plus 15 system is the most extensive indoor throughway of its kind, spanning over 18 kilometers in total. Visit Calgary’s dedicated Plus 15 Skywalk page for wayfinding information and to download your own map of the system, or download the +15 app for free from the App Store.

Most skywalks are open weekdays 6am-7pm, and weekends 9am-5pm. Visit the city’s website to confirm specific operating hours and to check for closures. Our front desk team are also well-versed in all things downtown and are happy to orient you within the Plus 15 network.

Our mission is to deliver the best experience to all visitors and guests, and helping you feel comfortable within our city is just one way we can deliver on that promise.
